Check out your equipment and vehicle
Prepare for the day by ensuring that the ambulance and all of the equipment within it are in place and operational.
Patient Pick-Up
Receive report from the patient’s nurse and prepare the patient for transport. Ensure the patient is comfortable and load them into the ambulance.
Transport
Transport the patient from their pick-up to drop-off destination. One EMT/Paramedic will navigate the ambulance while the other provides medical attention in the back through medical procedures, monitoring, and proper reporting.
Patient Drop-off
Unload the patient from the ambulance and move them to their destination. Ensure that they are comfortable and the receiving facility is notified and given a report.
Posting
Spend some time waiting for a call talking with your partner, brushing up on your medical knowledge, grabbing some food or drink from the EMS lounges and finishing your reports.
