What is a co-payment?
A fixed amount that you pay for a covered healthcare service.
What is a deductible?
The amount that you pay for healthcare services before your health insurance begins to pay.
What is co-insurance?
You share the costs of a healthcare service. This is usually seen as a percentage of the amount allowed to be charged for the services. You start paying your coinsurance after you’ve paid your plan’s deductible.
What is an in-network provider?
Refers to providers, healthcare facilities and medical transportation organizations that are a part of a health plan’s network which have negotiated a discounted rate.
What is an out-of-network provider?
Refers to providers, healthcare facilities, and medical transportation organizations that are not a part of a health plan’s network and do not have a discounted rate.
What about primary insurance versus secondary insurance?
Primary insurance is the first insurance that pays up to the limits of the plans coverage.
Secondary insurance only pays if there are costs the primary insurance did not cover. The secondary payer may not cover all of the uncovered costs. Copays and deductibles still need to be met with a secondary insurance.
What will my insurance cover?
Stadium Medical accepts and is happy to bill all private insurance. Please note, however that Stadium Medical is not in network with most private insurers. The coverage for each insurance differs based on the individual’s policy.
Does Stadium Medical offer payment assistance on ambulance or wheelchair bills?
Yes, Stadium Medical will offer payment assistance on your bills. Call the billing department and we will assist you in setting up a payment plan.
What forms of payment does Stadium Medical accept?
Stadium Medical accepts VISA, MasterCard, personal checks and money orders. Patients can also make payments online through our Pay Your Bill Online page.
Where does Stadium Medical get my personal information from?
Stadium Medical will receive patient’s personal and billing information from the hospital and/or facility we transport you to or from. If you see any information that is incorrect, please call the billing department so that we can update your account.
Does Medicare cover ambulance or wheelchair transportation?
Medicare pays for medical transportation under Part B. Medicare part B will typically cover ambulance transportation into a hospital, or to a nursing home or rehabilitation center after a hospital admission. Medicare part B will not cover transportation back to a nursing home or rehabilitation center, after being seen in an emergency room, if the visit did not include an overnight admission. Medicare part B will not cover transportation from a hospital back to a private residence, or to or from a physician office appointment.
Medicare does not consider wheel chair transportation as ‘Medical Transportation’. As a result Medicare part B will not pay for LimoCare wheel chair transportation services.
Does Medicaid cover ambulance or wheelchair transportation?
Colorado Medicaid utilizes a transportation broker in the Denver Metro Area. All non-emergent ambulance and wheel chair transportation must be ordered through the below broker.
Who is Novitas Solutions?
Novitas Solutions is the Colorado third party Medicare payment processor. If you see Novitas Solutions as a payer, this simply means Medicare has paid their portion.
What about Blue Cross Blue Shield Out-of-State plans and Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield plans?
Due to Stadium Medical being an out-of-network provider, your insurance may mail you a check for the amount that they are going to cover. Please deposit the check and then make the payment to us by phone, mail or online.
